Harry Johnson’s 1888 Martini

From Harry Johnson’s 1888 Bartender’s Manual, we're using our Old Tom as he did for his martini, but with a few changes, such as quantities. He called for 'half a cup of gin' and 'half a cup of vermouth', which, as much as we love our hallowed spirit, might be a little much these days.

To make our 1888 Harry Johnson Martini, you'll need:

35ml Portobello Road Gin Old Tom

35ml Sweet Vermouth

2-3 dashes of Bob's Abbotts Bitters

1 dash of Absinthe

Cherry

Method:

In a mixing glass, stir all of the ingredients with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass; garnish with a cherry and squeeze a lemon twist over the top, then discard.
