Forgotten Cocktails: The Singapore Sling
31 July 2019

A classic cocktail with a much debated recipe, the Singapore Sling has somewhat been forgotten amongst modern drinks but World Class Bartender, Joe Schofield is here to show you why you should rediscover this deliciously fruity cocktail.

Though everyone can agree that a Singapore Sling contains gin, the other ingredients can vary quite drastically, the main debate being around whether or not to include pineapple juice.

To make Joe’s Singapore Sling you will need:

40ml Portobello Road Gin (Purchase here)

10ml Cointreau

5ml Benedictine

10ml Grenadine

10ml Cherry Heering

25ml Fresh Lemon Juice

Dash of Angostura Bitters

Splash of Soda Water

Mix everything but the soda water in a cocktail shaker and shake. Pour your soda on to a piece of block ice in a tall glass and top up with the gin mix. Garnish with a slice of lemon and a cherry.
