We visited the appropriately named Bramble Bar in Edinburgh where Assistant Bar Manager, Johnny talked us through the history of the Bramble cocktail and how to make the perfect version of it using Portobello Road Gin and the bar’s very own Braemble liqueur. A classic cocktail from legendary bartender Dick Bradsell, the drink was created in the 80s and is a modern classic on the ever evolving cocktail scene.
Watch Johnny talk and make the drink below:
20ml fresh lemon juice
12.5ml sugar syrup
45ml Portobello Road London Dry Gin (buy here)
Braemble Liqueur (buy here)
Measure and pour your fresh lemon juice, sugar syrup and Portobello Road Gin in to your Old Fashioned glass. Fill the glass with crushed ice, garnish with a bramble and mint sprig and then dust with icing sugar. Finish by pouring a measure of Braemble Gin Liqueur over the ice. Drink with a straw to enjoy.
